Tell you what, low income housing has its price. I went out for a 9pm mail collection, only to be held back by propriety. Not only did I want to stare, I wanted to freakin take a picture. Darn you, propriety. You always get in the way.
Anyway, on my way down the stairs, it sounds like some yelling on floor two. Always fun. Floor one had a dude sitting on their patio in the dark with a suitcase full of crap strewn out on the grass in front of him. It looked like somebody packed a suitcase full of crap and threw it out their door onto the grass and crap spilled out all over the place. Why so glum, dude sitting on the patio? Did you get thrown out too? He didn't tell me his story after I greeted him with a friendly "hello."
I came back from getting the mail, told Dave, "this place is AWESOME" and to get his butt out the door to share in my entertainment. Lucky for him, the story went on.
When Dave went out, dude on the patio is still sitting there, but now two girls are packing the crap in the suitcase in front of him. And since there is such a thing as propriety, Dave had to act like he was going to get the mail. When he returns from his pretend mail pickup, one of the girls is dragging the broken-zippered-clothes-spilling-out suitcase up one clunking step at a time to the second floor. All the while, our shirtless, shoeless, smoking neighbor is running up and down the stairs trying to find out what the H-E-double hockey sticks is going on-- only with less propriety, and far more stinkily. I really wish we could have just set up some lawn chairs and watched it all unfold. Thanks again propriety for ruining our fun. Thanks for keeping us, even now, from poking our heads out our door to see what all the running up and down the stairs, which is still happening, is all about.
