Partial

I know I'm partial to my own, but seriously, I have the cutest kid.

He is irresistible!

No story. Just a mohawk designed by Dave.

Old Fart

That's right. It was Dave's birthday yesterday. He's 26. He feels old. Silly man.

This is the awesome cake I made for Dave. His favorite: rainbow chip. What? You can't tell what it's supposed to be? What? It looks like a crappy failed attempt at a two layer cake? Open your eyes! It's supposed to be the grand canyon.

Or a T. Or a Y. You pick! Isn't that fun? Dave thought so. Happy birthday, Dave. You are the best. We love you.

A big place I like to call Hell

Walmart. Hell. As in the place.

It brings out the worst in me. I don't recall the last time I had a good experience at Walmart. If it weren't for their unbeatable everyday low prices, I would never step foot there.

Today's trip started out in the car, of course, on the way there. As usual there were bums at the off ramp signal. The person behind me gave them a cigarette. How charitable. I didn't see the bums with their mangy dog putting it's nasty paws on the big freezer bins at the store during my shopping like I have in the past. That was a disappointment.

No worries, though, it was just as retarded and awful as usual. I went to the deceivingly short line and got behind a man with ONE item. I missed the hubbub, but apparently, he thought his item was priced lower than he was being charged. So, my cashier lady went to freakin Africa to go check it out. Had I not already unloaded all my crap on the conveyor belt thing, I would have gone to another line and maybe have been done sooner. But, it's Walmart, and it gets me every time. I hate it.

Then, to add to my already bubbling fury and irritation, I get to drag as many groceries as I can fit in one arm, Miles in the other, the diaper bag, the keys to get into our apartment, blah blah blah, you get the picture. Thank you, Miles, for throwing your socks on the ground while I'm lugging all of this crap up our three flights of stairs. Doll face, maybe you should start walking.

Without fail, I'm hot, sweaty, and mad when I get home from Walmart. I'm pretty sure that's how I'd feel if I went grocery shopping in hell.

The end.

First time for stinking everything

Well, we had a good run, but Miles got his first real cold. He's had a snotty nose for a minute or two before, but never a real cold. Motherhood, how could you be so sweet and blissful and then turn on me in a flash and make my life MISERABLE? I would consider not forgiving you, but you turn back to your old ways, and I thank you.

This is Miles' new favorite spot. He's always loved the tuperware cupboard, but hasn't got in and got cozy. Now, at least once a day, he'll climb in and sit in there and go to town throwing all the tupperware out and getting it back in, closing the doors on himself, etc. He sat in there yesterday for 45 minutes or so. He thinks it is dope, and so do I.

He found this seat the other night and now when his closet is open he goes over to it and sits down and swings his legs out like "Cool. Just my size."

Other than that, Miles is just a 14 month old non walking delightful boy. He doesn't talk, but he signs "more" for anything and everything he wants. Lately, when I tell him "no" he looks at me and carefully signs "more." What, kid? You think if you ask I'm going to let you do it? Then he kind of grabs his face and does a frustrated yell when I tell him "no" again. So sweet.

I've got him to sign "please" and "thank you," but "more" is his definite front runner. He eats like a pig and asks for more until his belly is stretched so big and hard and I have to make him stop eating. Also loves Sesame Street-- Elmo in particular, and Blue's Clues. He sits on the couch like a fatty and holds onto the XBOX controller while watching TV. I'm pretty sure he gets dumb whenever I let him watch TV, but what can I say? One hour a day isn't so bad, right?

That's it for the Miles update. Here's a video... I was trying to get him reading his books, but he got uninterested/caught me. Better luck next time.

Date Night

Dave and I went on a date tonight. We ate food and talked about 9/11, healthcare and politics, and my stupid hair cut with a hole on the right side. The highlight was definitely the two grande people trying to go through the revolving door in the same segment and getting bumped back and forth and into each other by the door. We started the night out right. Thank you, grande people for NOT resisting your urge to get to your food ASAP.

I hate our camera

I am no photographer, nor do I actually know anything about photography, but I do enjoy taking pictures. After having had full access to my dad's nice camera, and getting a million adorable pictures of Miles, I've been nothing but frustrated with our crappy little digital camera since. That's all.

Miles-- looking pretty old.

He learned how to pose for pictures. Not really.

Whenever I put this hat on him, he leaves it on for hours at a time. Even if I had no reason to put it on him and we are inside and he is just playing, he plays in style.

Same with his hood. He has nice teeth, too. And although he looks like he was making some sort of devilish sound in the first two pictures of this bunch, he wasn't making any noise; he just gets pretty excited and cheesy for the camera.

This is what Miles looks like these days, as of a couple hours ago. I hate our camera and/or my lack of skills to take better pictures with it.

This was a rainbow right outside out place the other day. Purty.

That's all, folks.
