Some Minnesota Stuff Before She Leaves Forever: Part 2

Lake Calhoun.  We only went once, but we went.  I feel like there is a ton of stuff we didn't do and/or see in MN since we were gone the one summer of Dave's school.  Oh well.  What's done is done.

When we got to this lake Miles walked right into the water, shoes, socks, sweats and all.  We were like, "WHAT THE?"  I don't know what he was thinking.  Apparently he was real excited to see that water and wanted to go right in.  Which he did.

That is one adorable face, if you ask me.

Nature.  Such a beaut:

Must have been early Spring...

It was a lovely one and only visit to Lake Calhoun.

Some Minnesota Stuff Before She Leaves Forever: Part 1

We finally made it to a Twins game (a while ago).  It was on the MN to do list.  Glad we got it done!  It was a great game-- there was an inside-the-park homer, we ate peanuts and the Twins won.  Miles dug it.  When we asked him what his favorite part was he said, "the end."  So there you have it.

Alive and Kickin'

Yo, just popping in to say hi.  We made it to Houston a while ago and we are alive and kickin.

We said goodbye to the many mosquitoes we smashed on the walls of our little dump:

Took one last walk around our little dump:

And loaded in the truck.

Party!  I'm sorry to say, this was the only moment we all three wore our matching hats.  It's like I always say... this is the stuff memories are made of.

HE DID IT

Ladies and gents...
He did it.

So very proud (!) and as happy (!) as a ribbon in a Bible, as Ned Flanders said the other night.

Sorry, one picture is all I can muster tonight-- so very, very tired and so very, very much to do to get out of here by Thursday.  See you later, and I do promise picture overload (would never let you down and don't you know it!) in how ever many weeks.

YAY DAVE!

Congrats, you're the bomb and YOU'RE DONE!

Just Washing the Dishes...

...with my wedgie.

One of them I don't want to forget

Happy Mother's Day!   We sure do love our moms and all they've done for us over the years.  Thanks, moms. You are the best.

I'm glad to be a mom (understatement).  I don't know what I'd do without my little buddy.  I'd answer a heck of a lot fewer questions.  I'd never have to deal with screaming time outs.  I'd listen to the Les Mis soundtrack a whole lot less.  I'd rarely make a mustard, cheese and pickle sandwich, and I'd be missing a whole humongous, ginormous amount of joy.

I'm always amazed at how much Miles loves me.  Even if I've spent the majority of a day barking at him and disciplining him, he still loves me more than anything in the world.

Recently, when we put Miles to bed and give him a kiss he proceeds to kiss me (just me because I don't have poky whiskers-- thank heaven.  That would be awkward...) a hundred billion times all over my face, my shoulder, etc.  It's pretty cute and I love it, but one night when we were putting him to bed I was not a happy camper for some reason or another and I hadn't had a shower yet.  Judge away.  Anyway, Dave told him to kiss me all over and I said, "No, don't, I'm dirty" to which Miles responded, "But you look so pretty!"

Only Miles would tell me I look pretty when I don't.  My life without my motherhood just wouldn't be complete.  Thanks, Miles, for making me a mom and being the bestest, sweetest, fun little boy in the world.  Happy Mother's Day to me.

So Long

We are moving in 10 days.  I've liked MN more than I ever thought I would.  The mild winter we just had contributes to that, I'm sure.  And it's such a pretty and green Spring right now.  Definitely going out on a high note.  I think I'll actually miss it.  MN, that is.  And Como.  There is a lot we didn't do out here, but Como was so close and so free, we definitely did that and I'll definitely miss it.

So long Como.  I doubt I'll be seeing you in the next 10 days or ever again.

So very, very purdy:

These fish were eating/fighting over that leaf...  I'd never seen anything like that before and I thought it was pretty groovy.

Miles enjoying his last time at the little toddler play area thing:

It was fun, Como.  It was fun.

Lasts

Per usual, I only have a goofy looking picture of Dave.
But goofy looking picture or not, here are the facts:
Last night was Dave's LAST CLASS of his graduate school career.  Can I hear a "HALLELUJAH?"  Now he just has some presentations and finals!

Pretty sure this is a more accurate representation of what he feels like:
