Miles' Baptism (July 2016)

What an incredibly special day.

We decided to have Miles baptized up in CO while we were there for the Lawson reunion and so much of our family could be there with us.  He was baptized on July 30, 2016 in Frisco, CO in a church building surrounded by beautiful mountains, pine and aspen trees, and a river you could hear running through the open windows.  It was wonderful.  His grandparents gave all the talks, his dad baptized and confirmed him, and his cousins Courtney and Cami sang the most beautiful song in the most beautiful voices.  I was a complete emotional basket case.

When I asked for a picture of Miles and my mom, he arranged it just so-- all snuggly and love-y.  He loves my mom so very, very much.

It was adorable.

Sure do love my little family!

I don't know about you, but I'll take it!

Breckenridge: the Bear (July 2016)

One night in Breckenridge, there was a bear at the cabin, rummaging through the trash.  Dave and our brother in law Adam upset some of the ladies in the house by getting too close and trying to get it's attention, etc.  Dave seriously took, like, 10,000 pictures (total exaggeration, but it was A LOT) of the furry animal.

Check out that fox that would quickly sneak in when the bear was otherwise occupied to take some of the goods.

We had to call... whomever you call, when there's a bear going through your trash and their bright light scared it off.  And we all lived to tell the tale.  Amen.

Hiking Quandry (July 2016)

Good grief.  This was not my best hike, and I LOVE to hike.  Dave has done it before, and we attempted it together back in 2013 but the weather ended our ascent early.  We made it to the summit this time, but I was pretty darn miserable.  My gut was not agreeing with me and I had no way to take care of business... it was awful (although, when we were almost all the way down the mountain, we came across a little roll of toilet paper and I literally burst into tears at the site of it!  It was like manna from heaven!).  And the trail was pretty brutally rocky.  In the Rocky Mountains... go figure!  BUT, it was an accomplishment!  Quandry is a 14er!

It was super cold and windy at the top, so we quickly took in the views, took some photos and headed back down that brutal trail.

Speaking of accomplishments, my 63 year old mom did the hike with us!  How awesome is that?!  She's my hero.
