Fort Pickens, Take One

We went to Fort Pickens in Florida.  I love this kind of stuff.  It was cool.  It was big.  These pictures aren't from the main fort, just one of the little guys.
Miles.  Such an athletic little runner.

There's Miles in there....

Dave looking normal and handsome.

Dave looking hideous.  He just can't help himself.

The lookout empty.

The lookout occupied.

Pretty sweet view for them soldiers...

Another one of the forts out there.

Toyoyta

It was Dave's Dad's birthday while we were in Florida.  We stopped off from a little drive to call and say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" as shown below:

Then we saw this amazing "antique" Toyota Corolla and had to take some pictures for Dave's Dad since he loves and drives his 1991 Toyota Corolla.  Check it out:

Nice.

P.S.  Miles is really interested in cars.  He knows just about every make there is on American roads.  He announces every different kind of car he sees whenever and wherever we drive, but he most certainly did not recognize this "Toyoyta."  I've listened to him say "Toyoyta" so many times, I kind of have to think about how to say it before I open my mouth.

Florida-- The Beach

We went to Florida!  It was AWESOME.  Pensacola is only about 8 hours from Houston, and if you are a Lawson, that pretty much means your bum barely touched the seat of the car.

This was the first time Dave has taken any time off (read: he worked Christmas Eve) since he started his job here in Houston.  It was really nice to get away and go on a little DAM trip.

As you can imagine, I have a bazillion pictures from the trip, so get ready for multiple upon multiple Florida posts.

Miles was in freaking heaven:

Sand castles-- yippee!

Honestly, is there anything much better than a beach day?

Mmmmm.
