Burn, Baby

We just got back from our Christmas vacation, and we have one hundred and one million pictures, but I wanted to start the memory off right.

Since we'd be gone for a week or so, I was trying to get rid of all the fresh food in our fridge. We had a lot of tomatoes so I decided to make salsa. At 10pm or so. That's the salsa making time, didn't you know?

Anyhow, I lost my mind for a minute and blew my nose as soon as I was done chopping and mixing and yada yada. Did you know that serrano chili oil from your fingers transferred to your nose burns like the flames of hell? I did. I knew that. But I forgot to wash my hands before I blew my nose, and then I took the trip to the burning flames of hell. After I melted two big ice cube tray ice cubes on/up my nose and spread the burn to my lips, we turned to google and found a remedy: yogurt. Thanks, Dave. I'm so glad I have you to spread yogurt up my nose and around my mouth when I need it.

Every kid loves dolls, right?

What can I say? Miles likes dolls. And if he doesn't like them, he beats them in the face with tupperware. We'll see how that all pans out.

Also, Miles is a very regular pooper. It's a surprise if he doesn't poop right after every meal. My mom brought me to the realization that this will make for an easier time at potty training (please knock on wood), because he's predictable and I'll always know the good times to take him to the banjo. Well, why wait, right? Because he has NO idea what's going on. That's why. We sat him on the toilet today after his lunch and while he thought it was awesome and fun, it was uneventful and a little boring. But he's still cute.

Air On A ...

For some reason this makes me laugh every time.

Not Much

Not much has been happening in the Lawson house.

Miles has been sick.

See his crusty snot?

We went out in the frigid cold (I hear that's great for sick kids)...

crunched ice with our feet...

and saw some ducks.

It was a ball. Like I said, not much going on in the Lawson house.

One of a Kind

I don't know what Dave and I did to luck out with Miles. He amazes me all the time with his sweet-as-pie personality and his good boy-ness.

For example, when he wakes up in the morning, he is quiet as a little mouse-- just sits in his bed and waits for me or Dave to go get him.

I'm in the nursery these days, and I take Miles with me even though he's not old enough. Kids take his toys and he just finds another. I've never seen him take a toy from another kid or be a big, fat baby when his gets taken.

If he sees me cleaning some toys up, he comes and helps me-- it's so cute, although, I have to take partial credit. I've been teaching him to clean up for months and months and months.

He put up with being abandoned in this jumper thing for months...

and months....

and months...

and months.

Then, recently, I think he was not letting me do what I wanted, so I put him in it just to see what he'd do.

And there you go. Nice leg, Miles.

Questionable content

Need some new spatulas? I hear they make them for more than just spatula-ing. Read this Amazon review at your own discretion.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5-Star Spatula / 3-Star Sex Toy, October 31, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've been wanting new spatulas for a while and was reading a book that said you should spank your wife gently with random kitchen devices as a form of foreplay and the ice cube trays didn't work so I bought this. I like the brand, I like the red, I like that the wood handles come off to wash the tops in the dishwasher. My wife has delicate cheeks, I spanked her a few times with all three of these, and she liked the middle one the best. She found it erotic, with a slight whisp of rediculous. That said, because the light spanking didn't lead directly to bed, I'm giving these 3-stars as sexual aids. For all spatula-ing purposes, they're fansastically perfect, best on the market.

I turned older recently, and this is where Dave took me to dinner. We enjoyed lovely food at a steal of a deal...

and enjoyed lovely views such as this...

and this.

My two scoops of ice cream and my fancy pink candle. Happy Birthday to me!

Meanwhile, winter may or may not be here.

See? Icy.

The little dude.

The pretty little place we call home...

...and the pretty faces at home.

...and me, the pretty face maker. You know, wiping snotty noses, keeping meat on bones, etc.

Halloween

Miles was a fireman for Halloween. Nothing better than using already owned winter pants, a winter coat and a borrowed fireman hat to make a costume that costs NO additional $$$.

I love that face...

and that one...

and that one.

Sweet mustache to complete the look.

Admiring his candy.

Reading the new Halloween book Dave's parents sent, loving it, and wanting to read it AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.

I don't really like Halloween. Dave does. The end.
