San Diego and the USS Midway

Remember how I said Miles had scarlet fever over Spring Break?  So we didn't really have a Spring Break?  Well.  We pulled him out of school the second to last week and called it our Spring Break.  We went to visit my parents, sister and fam and see my other sister and brother-in-law for a couple hours in Escondido.  It was insanely nice.  The only bad part about going to wonderful places and getting to do lots of wonderful things is having to come back to Houston.  Yikes.

Here we are, loaded up on the plane and ready to go:
And excited about it!

The very first thing we did was go to the aircraft carrier USS Midway.
They had an audio tour specifically for kids which was really cool!  Miles seemed quite engaged and really enjoyed trying to find all the kid numbers.

It was super cool!

Also, funny story: My dad wanted to take Miles on a flight simulator ride.  You know, the kind that you control and can spin all around, upside down, etc.  Miles being Miles wanted to go with Grandma Sally and only Grandma Sally.  Little did he know she isn't the most...... uh..... joystick coordinated and they had quite the wild ride!  Pretty sure Miles was terrified and my mom came out splitting a gut laughing.  It was pretty funny and I wish I could have seen them in there trying to figure out what the heck was going on and how to get right side up!  The end.
