Fall

This year's weather has been way different than last.  I specifically remember being hot and sweaty at a December t-ball game and it just never really got cold.  There may have been a day or two when it dropped into the 40s or something, but it was overall just warm.

This year, though, has actually had some pretty chilly days!  I've worn coats!  Like a bunch!  I even got out my warm boots.  Seriously.

Consequently, we've had way more fall colors this year and it's been so nice.  I've really, really, really, really enjoyed the "cold" weather.  The local news is soooooooooooooooooo funny about the weather.  They act like it's the biggest story ever if it's going to be cold or like winter.  I get it, because they (the newscasters) are from this armpit (too nice of a label), but it just makes me laugh.

Anyway, LOOK!  Fall.  I'll take it whenever it comes.

Another Hockey Game

We headed up to Dallas for a hockey game again this season.  It was the only Avs v. Stars game we'd be able to make.  It was pretty much a repeat of the last time we went to a game with the exceptions of out seats being WAY better and the Avs winning and Miles rooting for them the whole time, even when Dallas came back and tied it for OT.  We went up to Dallas and back to Houston in the same day and we even saw the same old guy and he gave Miles more hockey cards.  It was a great game and super fun.

Our buddy, Mike Haynes!  Never seen him so up close and personal before.

 Interviewing one of the players.

Hockey:

The Avs coach, Patrick Roy (said "WAW").  When Miles saw him he said, "I see Patrick Roy!"  I'm sure Miles is one of the few if not the only five year old that knows that Patrick Roy was one of the best goalies ever in the NHL.

 The game winning goal celebration.

Some from Dave's phone:

Sweet success.

A Picnic and Wiffle Ball

The summer is finally over and we can go enjoy the outdoors once more!  We took a picnic to a park a few weeks ago and played wiffle ball.  So nice to be able to go out as a family.  Our outings have been seriously lacking.

Look at my cute boys:

Look at them a lot because I didn't want to leave any of these pictures out.

This was Miles' first attempt at his ugly face.

Dave showing him how it's really done.

Attempt # 2

Now you can look at me and Miles a lot:

Love getting to do something fun with my family, even if it's just a picnic and wiffle ball.

Halloween

This year for Halloween, Miles decided all by himself that he wanted to be "a homeless person."  I laughed out loud and was secretly super happy because that is the easiest costume ever.  After a while, we told Miles that he should tell people he was going to be a "hobo" instead of a "homeless person."

Here he is, homeless as can be at our ward trunk or treat:

Miles doesn't even know what's coming....

He drew a temple on the back of his "Will work for candy" sign.  It's pretty much black with an orange Moroni on top and a tree at the bottom.  That's all the explanation I possess.

I never asked him to look homeless or down trodden, it just worked out that way.

On Halloween day it rained and rained and rained the first many hours of the day, but cleared up for trick or treating.  We swapped out the dirt (since it was all wet and muddy) for the un-done mop top.

Looking for the perfect piece of candy.

Miles was mad about something and stormed off on a little walk up and down the sidewalk....

Miles is pretty particular about candy and chocolate.  He likes fruity things like suckers, jolly ranchers, skittles, but nothing too chewy/get-stuck-in-your-teeth-y.  As for chocolate he likes, in his own words, "Plain old chocolate Dove."  (That's my boy)  Anyway, I watched him at several houses survey the candy options and if he didn't see something he liked or thought Dave and I would like (he actually did pick up a bunch of candy specifically for us), he didn't take anything!  So there you have it.  Miles.  He's one of a kind.

The sky gave us a pretty sunset and the puddles gave us awesome reflections.

And thus it was, a Happy Halloween.
