Ringing in the Season

The only way you really know Christmas is coming in a warm climate is when the lights and decorations start to come out.  Per the Houston tradition, we drove around looking for and yelling about lights and went back to River Oaks where they really deck out their mansions.  Miles wanted to go look at lights just about every day this past Christmas season.

This house even has a train.

Miles, looking at lights 2014:

Miles kept jumping for all he was worth to try and reach one of the strands.

Dizzy?

They plant these cool red and white flowers for the season:

So festive.  I like it.

That is probably the most fully lit tree we've come across.  Pretty cool!

Nothing but Miles and a Camera

A couple of friends asked me to take a quick picture for their family Christmas card back in December.  Miles tagged along and I snapped some picture of him while we waited for everyone to get there.

He's getting so old and big and I hardly ever take his picture anymore.  So sad.

However, all he does is goof around anyway:

A different day, reading a book while we waited:

We have had some cold weather this winter here, but I just realized he is in shorts and a t-shirt on both days which were 12/13/14 and 12/15/14.  Crazy!

Zoo Days

Even though Miles' life is ruled by elementary school, we still make it to the zoo every now and again.  He loves it.  It's been done again and again.  There are loads of pictures of it up here, but it's what we do.  So redundancy is the order of the day!

I always text Dave pictures of any mating I may see.  I know it will make him laugh and/or smile because he's immature.  Let's face it: so am I.  Sorry.

This is so Miles.  He's such a scaredy pants.  He got that far on the giraffe, looked like he was going to start shaking like a leaf and told me, "Hurry, take the picture."  Haha.

There was a new exhibit called "The Scoop on Poop."  It was very interesting and pretty funny.

How apropos that Miles got pooped on not long after we were in that exhibit!  He thought it was hilarious.  I thought it was equal parts funny and gross.  If it was me that got pooped on, I would have just been all kinds of grossed out and probably super annoyed.  I wish I was more like a kid!

Miles wanted me to take his picture all over the place...

Not angry, just making that face for whatever reason.

And that's another time or two at the zoo, folks.
