Hike to Potato Chip Rock

The last thing I have to share from our trip to Escondido: Hiking to Potato Chip Rock.  Man, I love hiking!  It would be so awesome to live in a place with this kind of stuff available and readily accessible.  Houston has some "hikes," but it's just not the same as an actual hike.

It was all drizzly/rainy and pretty chilly the morning we hiked up to potato chip rock.  We could have stood in line to get a picture on the rock, but it was windy up there and we were wet and cold so we settled for a picture in front and were just as happy!

Super cool and fun hike!

Safari Park

We went to the Safari Park with my sister and kids and mom.  'Twas a blast.

These guys were real fun while we were there:

This silverback is pooping right in to his hand in this picture.  Miles shared the story with some guests at the dinner table the other day.  Super.  Note to self: teach Miles appropriate dinner table conversation.

At the bird show.

At the lions.

Doing some sort of performance.

On the tram thing.

Left: "I AM smiling!"  Right: Finally.

Smelly Seal Beach

We had intended and planned on hiking at Torrey Pines, but realized we walked out of the house without our tennis shoes.  Bust.  No prob, though.  We went to La Jolla Cove instead and got up close and personal with a bunch of seals.  Let me tell you: downwind from a bunch of seals is one of the most disgusting, overwhelming stenches ever.  So smelly.

Dave somehow got Miles to poke some anenomes so they would close up.

He lived to tell the tale.

Fun outing!  We love nature!
