Way back when, when we still lived in Houston and right before Miles started 2nd grade, we had him join the swim team at the YMCA. Swimming has always been something Miles has enjoyed and just about the one thing in his entire life that he was able to approach and immediately engage in without any hesitation, fear, time to get comfortable, etc. It really seemed to come naturally to him. So when we found out the Y had a swim team, we presented the option to Miles and he was all jazzed for the opportunity. Tried out. Made it. Done.
Here's his very first meet:
I'm willing to bet that one event was a 25 yard freestyle.

P.S. Looking back on these pictures and meets really makes me realize how laid back and easy those meets were compared to what he's doing now!
