The CO Nutshell

We stayed in a cabin on this pretty street in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

A visitor:

Breckenridge has activities for summer at the ski resort. We did alpine slides, rode a gondola and mini golfed. It was a rip roaring good time!

Riding the gondola.

The mini golf:

Winding up-- way up.

Concentrating oh so hard.

If the club doesn't work, just lay down and throw the ball.

I realize these three pictures are the same... I just loved the progression of Miles' laugh.

All in all, it was a great t-shirt matching family reunion good time! Three cheers for "Awesome Lawsons"!

A whole half a decade

Today is the day Dave and I celebrate our 5th anniversary. Five years seems like a long time to me... I don't feel like I've been married that long. Maybe because I'm only 24. Ha!

If you don't want to take a long stroll down memory lane, save yourself some time and move on.

Dave and I had our first date on March 12, 2005 and got hitched July 22, 2005.
We were so obliviously happy. Falling in love with Dave was the easiest, most natural thing I've ever done.

The start of the Rexburg years:

Good ol' snowy, cold Rexburg.

Not in Rexburg, obviously...

Nope, not Rexburg, either. Go Avs!

Rexburg.

Mesa Falls, by Rexburg.

Definitely not Rexburg. Banff, Alberta Canada is still one of the prettiest places I've been.

Ah, the Rexburg townhouse.

Half-eyed Willy.

First prego pic we ever took.

He graduated! In a shade under a decade! Just kidding... it wasn't a decade.

Dallas: the most expensive life lesson I ever paid for.

Also the fattest I've ever been in my entire life.

Seriously? That just came out of me?

The beginning of DAM.

Back when Miles had some color in his skin.

Out of Texas and happy about it, but so not ready for the hard times ahead.

Denver.

Welcome to Liberty Lake.

Go Rockies.

The day we found out Dave got the assistantship at WSU. Suddenly the hard times of that year were worth it.

Totally worth it.

Happy Anniversary to us.

More Birday

Well, we gave Miles a birthday party on the Saturday after his birthday just like I told him all week. I wish we would have just celebrated his birthday on his birthday because he was the best that day. He was kind of a whiner on Saturday morning, but it was such a fun filled day it all worked out in the end.

The best gift he got was arguably all the balloons:

Miles got spoiled and he really is enjoying all his new stuff, and I'm really enjoying him playing by himself for long periods of time. Thanks to everyone!

No party is complete without a day at the lake, right?
Miles was not afraid of the water at all. Putting his feet in wasn't good enough-- he kept scooting his butt off the tube and into the water...

He totally loved it. He got all the way in and swam with us and never even acted like the water was cold. Good ol' Miles.

Singing "Happy Birthday." I looked down to fiddle with my camera settings and looked back up and Miles had blown out the candles in the middle of the song.

We lit them again so I could see his excellent blowing skills.

So, it was a fun week long birthday, Miles. You're the best. See you next year.
